Northwestern University rescinded its offer to award an honorary doctoral degree to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright at the school's main graduation ceremony next month. The university plans to have alum Jerry Springer give its law school commencement address, however. The yanking of the invite is a first for Northwestern, which issued the following statement. Joe Trippi believes his candidate, John Edwards could have forced a brokered convention if he stayed in the race, perhaps even winning the nomination. Is there any validity to this? Did Edwards even have the money to continue? It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure if hindsight is even 20-20 in this case.
