This episode is really disappointing. I figured you'd take at least take a minute to outline why they're wrong, and you're right. Instead you just point the finger at deregulation at the start and let the republicans on television say otherwise, then don't backup or disprove anything.

The cause of the troubles has been demonstrated to be the new "financial instruments" (eg, the bets on bets that folks would fail to pay their mortgages), not subprime lending. See link:
