amazing coverage of the Sean Bell incident and one that has the significance of showing just how fearful we have become. In this case, retrubution and retaliation were thought to come standard however, the sad truth is that, like the man said in the beginning, nothing is going to happen, and it's going to happen all over again. It is just unbelievably disappointing to see the uselessness and helplessness of a protest like that, activism as we knew it is dead. That cop needs to be shot, or his house set on fire, or set some cars on fire, SOMETHING. It angers me to know that a violent murders walks on the street a block away from the angry mob. Yes violence leads to more violence and it never ends, but something far more fundamental is missing here and that is simple justice!

The police have had far too free of a hand when using their guns.

Here in San Diego a cop followed a professional football player home in his own car, never identified himself as a police officer and shot the man.   All charges dismissed.

Another off duty San Diego officer shot a mother and her eight year old son after a highway road rage incident.  Once more no charges have even been brought.

Police are people, they make bad mistakes.   But they must be held responsible when they cross the line into using the police powers they have for a license to kill.

agreed.  why wasn't any of this reported like this elsewhere?  i read the times, am ny, the post, and try to listen to ny1 as much as possible, but this just had a totally different feel to it.  maybe i'm just stuck in suburbia too much, but i didn't even realize all that 'fuck the police' protest was going on.  i'm surprised there were no retalliations.  those men were guilty.
