Rose, Huff, Obama, Yahoo, Mashup
So Yahoo, Slate and HuffPo have launched their Democratic candidate "mashup". The partnership works as an interactive 'debate'- people sent in questions that are then asked to each candidate by Charlie Rose (my former boss). The format is fun, and it is a lot like watching an episode of Charlie Rose, with all the candidates joining by link up. However, the downside is the answers are short and pithy, which basically comes out in a soundbite form, and there are only 3 main categories, plus a bit of fun from Bill Maher. A better method would be taking what candidates said in one on one interviews, like Charlie's normal format, and then cutting the parts that are relevant on different issues. The format is meant to be interactive, yet strangely seems more like passively watching tv then the YouTube debates.
