¡Adios, Tancredo!
His hardline immigration stance wasn't enough to carry him through the primary season, and so republican Rep. Tom Tancredo is expected to pull out of the race later today. The five-term Colorado congressman is expected to make his announcement at a gathering in Iowa, where he is last in the parade to the GOP bid.
Otherwise less than newsworthy, Tancredo has drawn criticism for his advertising choices, particularly a T.V. commercial in which he shows a shadowy figure in a hooded sweatshirt entering a mall - followed by the sounds of explosion and images from terrorist attacks in Europe, including that of a bloody child. Tancredo announces, "There are consequences to open borders beyond the 20 million aliens who have come to take our jobs," a narrator says. "Islamic terrorists now freely roam U.S. soil, jihadists who froth with hate, here to do as they have in London, Spain, Russia. The price we pay for spineless politicians who refuse to defend our borders against those who come to kill."
If that's not enough to terrify you into building a wall around our nation, don't worry, he has more ammo where that come from: dangerous South American gangs are now waltzing through Mexico, killing your sons, raping your daughters, and coming to steal your job.
