It was a big day for Mitt Romney.  It seems that famous "religion speech" he gave at College Station is starting to become infamous - and fast. 

“I saw my father march with Martin Luther King,” he told the audience.  Only it seems he didn't see anything.  

So instead of apologizing, Mitt waxed pathetic: 

“If you look at the literature, if you look at the dictionary, the term ‘saw’ includes being aware of in the sense I’ve described,” he said. “It’s a figure of speech and very familiar and it’s very common and I saw my dad march with Martin Luther King. I did not see it with my own eyes but I saw him in the sense of being aware of his participation in that great effort.” [see Kristin Linder's article for more on this.]

So, Mitt, we took your advice.  From dictionary.com:

Gr.  Skr. sac. Cf. Sight, Sun to follow.] 1. To perceive by the eye; to have knowledge of the existence and apparent qualities of by the organs of sight; to behold; to descry; to view.

I think we can assume the key words there are "ORGANS OF SIGHT."

This slight oversight would be enough to mortify any normal presidential candidate, only he's got bigger problems:

Turns out his dad never marched with MLK after all.

So by "saw" he meant "I didn't see anything" and by "with" he meant "not at all," so maybe when he's saying what he really wants in schools is an "English Immersion" education plan, he actually means "Ooh, ooh, start with me!"
