Early Vote States Split on Clinton, Obama

POSTED BY Raleigh-Elizabeth Smith, 28 December 2007

Dems are locked in a tight race now: New Hampshire and Iowa voters are torn between Obama's character and Clinton's experience and it's anyone's guess who the winner will be.  Though competitive in Iowa, Edwards falls behind the two leaders in New Hampshire.

Clinton currently has the lead in Iowa - 29 percent - while Obama trails three percent at 26 percent, Edwards at 25 percent.  But the tables are turned in New Hampshire, hwere Obama currently holds a strong 32 percent, Clinton percent, and Edwards just percent.

"Democratic voters are having a conversation with themselves on what they want more in this election,''  Susan Pinkus, the Los Angeles Times polling director, told Bloomberg. "If they choose Obama it's about personal characteristics, whereas for Clinton it's her leadership on issues."
