Question of the day
On the Fox News morning program "Fox and Friends," the following bump was just offered up prior to a set of TV commercials:
Should illegal immigrants get tax rebate checks if they pay income tax?
If a soldier is under 21, should he be able to buy a drink?
My understanding of these morning shows, especially after reading Caitlin Flanagan's artful take-down of Katie Couric, is that they democratically present a set of issues that are of concern to a demographic of morning viewers, whether it's the stay-at-home mom, the retiree, the salaryman eating a slice of toast before dashing out to work in the morning, etc.
So, that being so, who is this viewer that is worrying about illegal immigrants getting tax rebates, and 18-year-old soldiers being unable to have a drink? Did the News Corp find this viewer? Or did the News Corp invent him?
