Dispatch from Georgia

POSTED BY Jordan Emmorey, 05 February 2008

The forecast for Peachy weather today in Georgia looks to bring in a record number of voters for this exciting Super Tuesday event. The Candidates have shown their interest in Georgia, and State Republican's and Democrats alike are gun hoe to make their voices heard.

Since the last presidential election, there have been a confluence of major change in the State which should have a significant impact on the outcome of the primaries. Unfettered population growth and development followed by the recent mortgage woes, compounded by traditional conservative views and the probable significance of race and gender politics leave this race wide open on both sides.

Georgia has successfully selected the eventual winner of the party nomination stretching back as least as far as H.W. Bush. Both Obama and Romney hope to capitalize on this and use Georgia as a spring board back into head-to-head competition. Likewise, the leaders both need a strong showing here to validate their position as front runner. If there is anything worth betting on, the odds on money is that heavy turnout, including many first time voters, could easily swing the vote in any of the candidates favor.Obama, McCain, Romney, election 08, ground hounds, super tuesday, georgia
