Thompson Said Something?

Proof that if you don't say it on a primetime T.V. show, it doesn't actually happen: Fred Thompson endorsed John McCain on Friday but no one knew.  The two seem to be chummy... do we smell a running mate?  McCain needs someone to swing the Values Voters for him, and I'm not sure Huckabee's got his "aye aye, Cap'n John" routine down yet.  Will we hear more from the Law and Order set now that the strike's off?
