Ground Hounds: Texas
The UpTake’s Noah Kunin is in Texas talking to voters three days before that state’s primary and caucuses. What he’s finding is voters are not as enthusiastic as they were in the other states he’s visited. A sort of voter malaise. This pair of voters wants to find someone they can trust. But even then, they’re not sure if their votes will help anything.
Texas has a combination primary/caucus, sometimes called “The Texas Two-Step” for allocating its 193 delegates for the Democratic convention. A primary held during the day determines 126 of those delegates which are divided proportionally based upon the popular vote. 67 delegates are allocated based upon caucuses that are held in the evening after the polls close. Ground Hound coverage of Texas and Ohio to follow.
