Electoral College Matchups (Maps!)
Survey USA released maps of the Electoral College vote for both of the possible general election matchups. Both Clinton and Obama beat McCain, Obama by 22 Electoral College votes, Clinton by 14. McCain wins more states either way.
The main differences: Obama beat McCain in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, North Dakota, Iowa, Michigan, Viginia and Vermont, while Hillary does not. Hillary wins in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arkansas, West Virginia, while Obama does not.
It's an interesting dynamic. Clinton's map looks like a more traditional red versus blue breakdown (as you might expect). Unlike Kerry or Gore, Hillary wins the swing states. Obama loses some of the traditionally Democratic Rust Belt, some swing states and every southern state, but picks up more western states.

Of course, this is all based on one poll eight months before the election, so take it with a grain of salt.
