Is Obama about to get Kackalacka'd?

POSTED BY Gabriel Red, 29 April 2008

Perhaps you've seen this photo of Senator Obama looking squinty, grey, and hungover outside a Country Kitchen (of all places to look hungover) in Indiana. He's looking tired and beat up, like he knows something is coming. The media still might be on its "Obama is inevitable" frenzy, but it's not looking that way when you dig deeper, and you can see it on the senator's face.

The first primaries in May are looking to be good contests for Senator Clinton.  She's expected to win Indiana handily, and now she's picking up the endorsement of Mike Easley, North Carolina's Democratic Governor.

Easley's endorsement should be helpful for Hillary. It helps her drive home the message that she's capable of generating support in states whose voters have punched red in the past couple of cycles. Combined with the harsh attacks being levied against him by the North Carolina GOP, the ones that even Senator McCain thought were beyond the pale (at least at first), it will help Senator Clinton further drive home her message of "Obama is not electable." A Democrat who defied the odds in a Red State is saying that she's the better candidate, the seeming will of his state's Democrats be damned.

If Obama barely wins NC, or even loses, the bloom might be coming off of that rose more rapidly than anyone has imagined.
