Elizabeth Edwards may show up at one of Hillary Clinton's events in North Carolina, according to Newsweek's Howard Fineman. Fineman said he didn't think John Edwards would endorse either candidate, however.

This news comes after a stunning 10 percentage point victory in Pennsylvania for Clinton over Obama, despite Clinton being outspent in Pennsylvania 3-1. Since the Pa. win was declared, MSNBC reports that the Clinton campaign has raised $2.5 million in just a few hours.

    Regardless, Clinton's path to...

  • For some Americans, democracy is a promise unfulfilled

That headline is the gist of today's editorial written by The New Republic entitled, "Voting block." The article takes a serious look at the disenfranchisement of not only Michigan and Florida voters, but also ex-felons, who in most states, cannot vote. What is striking is that some Dems. don't even seemed to be concerned about leaving out Michigan and Florida, despite the fact that 1 in 10 Americans hails from either state. Because it looks like Clinton is going to pull off a reasonable win...

According to the Drudge Report, Clinton's internal polling shows an 11-point lead over Obama in tomorrow's Pennsylvania primary. If these numbers are mirrored in Tuesday's voting results, then Clinton will definitely have some clout behind the talking points she will use to lead her to the nomination.

  • Katie Couric won't get to moderate: NC debate is off

POSTED BY ALEXANDRA STEIGRAD, APRIL 21 2008 03:35 PM | PERMALINK

Looks like there isn't going to be a 22nd debate for Clinton and Obama. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this one.

    From ABC:

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The democratic presidential debate scheduled for April 27 has been cancelled.

According to the North Carolina Democratic Party, time constraints and logistical issues associated with such a large, national event forced officials to cancel the debate.

Barack Obama had declined to commit to the event, saying he wasn't sure it would work with his...

  • Obama: "Senator Clinton looked in her element"

POSTED BY ALEXANDRA STEIGRAD, APRIL 17 2008 05:12 PM | PERMALINK

Obama's seems a little miffed about last night's debate, saying: “They like stirring up controversy and they like playing gotcha games, getting us to attack each other. And I have to say Senator Clinton looked in her element. She was taking every opportunity to get a dig in there. You know, that’s all right. That’s her right. That’s her right to kind of twist the knife a little bit.”

He continued to rag on the questioning, and called the debate a "text book Washington game." Wah. Wah. Wah. Is it me,...

  • Last night's debate

POSTED BY ALEXANDRA STEIGRAD, APRIL 17 2008 04:36 PM | PERMALINK

Last night’s debate was controversial—not because of the candidates’ answers, but because of the questions asked. Many criticized ABC News because their moderators asked questions that had more to do with campaign quibbles and character rather than policy questions. In the LA Times, ABC News’ George Stephanopulos defended his questions.

“The questions we asked were tough and fair and appropriate and relevant and what you would expect to be asked in a presidential debate at this point,” he said....
