Ohio Town's Democrats See "Hope" Differently  [WaPo]     "Obama, doesn't he sound a little naive?" asked Huenke, 52. "He stands up there, so optimistic, preaching about hope and change. It sounds great and everything, but come on. He doesn't quite get it."  Voters like Huenke present a difficult challenge to Sen. Barack Obama as he looks ahead to March 4, when primary battles with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in Ohio and Texas threaten to halt his campaign's momentum. In Lima and other fading...

  • Matthews Says Hillary Has Dems By the Balls, Pouts

Chris Matthews is very worried about Bob Kerrey's testicles now that the former Nebraska senator has officially given his endorsement to Hillary.

Maybe Kerrey is interested in a post in a future Clinton White House or maybe he just thinks she's the best person for the job.  But something in the Hardball (heh! heh!)  host won't let it be that simple.  She must have done something to him!  To his balls!

Otherwise why would a guy like Kerrey, who was a Navy SEAL in Vietnam and bagged a...

Apparently I was born into the wrong family. My whole life, I've dreamed of being President, and just when I thought that my big problem was that I'm not 35 yet, I learn that my future has nothing to do with age: there are just no Smiths in the White House. Clintons, sure. Bushes, of course. Kennedy, Cabot, Hodge, Roosevelt, even someone called Frelinghuysens... just no Smiths. That's not even because they know us and therefore know better, but rather, my parents did a lousy job of marrying into the...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, who is battling cancer, will step down in two weeks and be replaced by his deputy, Dana Perino, President Bush said on Friday.

"It's been a joy to watch him spar with you," Bush told reporters. "He's smart, he's capable, he's witty, he's ... able to talk about issues in a way the American people understand."

Snow, 52, a former Fox News commentator who was hired last year, announced in March that he had suffered a recurrence of colon...

    Tricky Dick Redux

You've probably by now heard all about Vice President Dick Cheney's unwillingness to abide by the rules followed by the rest of the executive branch when it comes to safeguarding and handling classified material, based on his claim that his office is not really part of the executive branch. What's startling is that as secretive and cagey as Dick Cheney is about classified material, his office and the White House in general is counterintuitively sloppy and incompetent when it comes to...
