Your Daily Politics Video Blog: The national polls haven't been great for John McCain of late. But the state by states are worse. We run through the latest numbers in episode one of our weekly 2008 General Election Roundup.
The major networks just called the race for Sen. Hillary Clinton with a 16 percent margin. Heralded as a must-win and a Democratic bellweather state, she carried Ohio 57% to 41%, despite being outspent 3-1 by Obama. Clinton held her base of core Democratic voters, which is sure to raise questions on Obama's electability with rank and file Democrats. The final voting totals are still being tallied up, and the margin can still shift slightly.
