    Hillary Clinton's campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle has stepped down. Doyle has worked with Clinton since she was first lady of Arkansas. Maggie Williams, Clinton's former chief of staff, will take over.

    Former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert handed in his resignation yesterday evening, effective at 11:59pm. While he gave his farewell address to the House before the Thanksgiving recess, he held off in specifying the date of his departure - Illinois Republicans had been trepidatious about the timing of a general election to choose his successor, now February fifth, which they fear will bring out Obama supporters and other Democrats in hordes.

    Does Trent Lott's resignation have anything to do with Larry Flynt of Hustler?


    Larry Flynt, editor and publisher of Hustler magazine, told FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto this morning that he’s “hoping to expose a bombshell” that will stand “Washington and the country on its head.” Within the next week or two, he says his magazine will expose a sex scandal of huge proportions involving a Republican politician. Is there a connection to the Lott resignation? We shall see.

    CNN, Fox News and MSNBC have been told that Trent Lott will announce today that he is resigning from the Senate. He will be the sixth Republican to do so this session. He has scheduled two press conferences in Mississippi later today where the formal announcemements are expected to come. Miss. Governor Haley Barbour will apoint Lott's successor.
