In a parallel universe, I would have loved Obama (and Clinton) to respond to Russert's Farrakhan missive: "NBC doesn't have standing to ask me to reject or denounce Farrakhan's support as long as Pat Buchanan is a commentator on MSNBC" (or Bill Bennett at CNN).

Instead of a debate, we had Russert trying to trip up candidates and arguing with them.  What happened to good moderators?  It's like Russert watched a Colbert interview and thought, "Hey, that's what I should do!"
